1000th episode of Henry Sachwald’s THEATRETRACK goes
to air 4th September 2008.
On Thursday 4th September Henry Sachwald
will be doing what he has been doing for the past 999 programs
of Theatretrack - presenting the best of Broadway West End and
Australian original cast recordings.

A Very Special Person and a Very Special Milestone
Henry Sachwald has turned a labour of love into a broadcast institution
Committed to introducing Australian audiences to the best of Broadway,
West End and Australian musical theatre, Henry has worked as an
unpaid volunteer at 3MBS-FM in Melbourne since 1983. On Monday
night the 6th August 1984, Henry presented his first program of
Theatretrack. Since that date Henry has introduced Australian
audiences to the sights and sounds of Broadway’s Golden
Age, the West End musical successes of the 1980’s and 90’s
and the recordings of Australian classic and contemporary musical
theatre.
He has interviewed the greats of Australian, American and English
musical theatre including
Kelley Abbey, Angela Ayres, Eleanor Bergstein, Peter Brocklehurst,
Simon Burke, Peter Carroll, Geoffrey Chard, Cy Coleman, Barbara
Cook, Judi Connelli, John Diedrich, Chistine Douglas, Jon Ewing,

BILLY
ELLIOT the MUSICAL will open in Melbourne December 2008.
The
critically-acclaimed production will commence performances at
Her Majesty's Theatre, Melbourne, on Tuesday, December 30 ahead
of the Melbourne premiere on Thursday, January 15. The
search for Melbourne's Billy Elliots will commence soon with auditions
being held in June and July. Tickets will go on sale in September.
